I worked with the Avanade division which focuses on custom enterprise tech solutions on the Microsoft platform. They were the top rated Microsoft gold partner and the projects were substantial (not break/fix work). Plus Avanade has a special relationship with Microsoft as a minority owner. As a result, recruiting passive talent to Avanade vs. competitors wasn't bad. The biggest challenge was the travel associated with client-focused IT consulting but certainly no worse than any other consultancy.

Most people were virtual which at many other companies could hurt your career progression but not there. Your work output/metrics told your story for you.

Top tier, period. Boutique firms may suit some better, but doors open when you say Accenture.

Accenture reputation varies case by case. Generally, it is very good. But I found some case that clients think that Accenture is not that good. But I think it is about consulting as a whole. Sometimes consulting companies provide just slideware but not really help. It is not specific only for Accenture only.

Most people will do most anything to stab you in the back to move up. The Firm says it wants gender equality but they are no where near their targets. The US CEO is a woman who joined as a lawyer and somehow got promoted to the CEO having zero consulting knowledge. It's hard to find anyone that can relate to her.

Accenture is a dog eat dog culture. It's up or out and there's little to no tolerance for anything but perfection. It also has its cliques. If you fail to fit into a privileged group early on, you're toast.
