Best thing to know about the company is their strong commitment to the community.

Employee - Director

I think its a good place that is doing good work.

Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)

While seeped in history, I found the Red Cross open to new ideas. The drawback to working here is sometimes tradition can slow change. Great company overall. Great co-workers.

Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)

Great co-workers focused on an amazing mission. Very loyal.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Only if seeking temp position. Pay is poor, MGMT inflated, unstable, don't respect or value employee contributions.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Unstable, biased, selective with promotions.

Employee - Director

The organization has an excellent reputation of helping those in need. Many programs and efforts of the Red Cross are at the grassroots level and individuals involved in this organization can make a real difference in their community.

Employee - Director

The culture of the American Red Cross was one of collaboration and inclusion. Services rendered utilized the skills of volunteers as well as paid staff. Often there was no distinction between the two groups. There was ample opportunity for recognition, team building, and motivational experiences. When it was time to assist those in need, both paid and volunteer staff would work together to assist.

Employee - Director

The most important thing to know is that job satisfaction may not come from your paycheck but from the fact that you are part of an international organization that provides assistance and comfort to those in need. Opportunities exist to help local, national and international communities.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

People who work there are working toward a join mission. They generally are nice and helpful.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Culture is very different based on which business unit you worked for.

Employee - Director

When I worked the culture was awful.

Employee - Director

The Red Cross was the worst mistake in my 45 year career in IT

Employee - Director

At the time having Red Cross on my resume turned out to be a huge negative.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The leadership and how they managed their employees was very unprofessional and abusive. They talked about employees to other employees used foul language. They made it a very toxic work environment.

Employee - Director

Very Poor leadership, lots of layers of cumbersome corporate structure, poor departmental communications because of internal silos

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
