Employee - Analyst / Associate
The company is India-based and the management structure is extremely fragmented, as is the onboarding process.
Employee - Analyst / Associate
Employees are good, team spirit is good, management isn't.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
It's actually an outsourcing company and as such they treat people as widgets; moreover, it's a horrible place for women to work
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Indian and old school
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
base is reasonable but individuals have little to no control / influence over the bonus and whether or not it is paid
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
They do not seem to have a vision, mission or corporate values that anyone can articulate, whether it's someone who's been there for 7+ years and in senior roles or someone who's been there 2-3 years. Rather, the culture seems to be purely capitalistic: make money at all costs and treat individuals as if there were raw material inputs to your supply chain.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
It's a barely known, or an unknown, company, despite it's size and it's regarded as an Indian outsourcer.
Employee - Director
My suggested change is the dominance / bias for male input, male advancement.
Employee - Director
Men talk over women; everyone talks at once and no one can understand. Meetings are routinely scheduled as early as 6 am and as late as 11:30 pm US time(s); the excuse is to accommodate "the guys in India," but the US-based H1B guys just don't want to get up and get to work at a sensible time. They require we lie on time accounting rather than account for hours actually worked.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
It was a disappointing 3 years with Cognizant, so many of the engagements the customer was sold and promised one thing to have something totally different delivered. Many times profiles we're switched or doctored to appear more impressive and than lesser talented resources used.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Near-shore resources are compensated on average, offshore resources and H1B workers are treated like Gypsies, underpaid and forced to relocate themselves and their families sometimes twice a year in the US.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Cognizant is a tough place to advance at unless your from the APAC region. As a US citizen I was asked to write letters requesting H1B visa's for resources at least a half dozen times a month, even when other resources we're available.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
I'm currently seeking employment and have heard on many occasions "oh you worked at Cognizant" or Cognizant who?".
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
It used to good place to work, now more focus is on the profitability even if it comes at the cost of employees
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Smart
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Not great compensation
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Unknown in the US
Employee - Manager
Apparently the reputation is very bad
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
"Two in the box" means one on-shore, many off-shore resources. Calls start at 6/7am and continue until late at night. Not a sustainable modle.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Leaderhip not very visible -- leadership is too engaged with billable hours to build the practice.
