Overall the culture is very competitive. People undercut each other. More work for less pay is expected. People don't tend to make friends easily and there is no mentorship at all. Nobody prioritizes career development so promotions are largely a popularity contest. Women are often treated condescendingly and patronizingly.

Although cognizant is a great place to work but some of the project require 14-16 hours of daily work load. I was stuck in one of such project in Irving Texas . Client is was of the major health insurance /pharmacy . Cognizant managers mandate everyone to work 12-14 hours 7 days a week.(yes including weekend) during welcome season. Worst part was here and fire policy once project was over. CTS in general is great place but some of the projects are not worth joining.

Zero work life balance. They give you very little vacation and it's difficult to use it. Despite their practice of using first names, the firm is very hierarchical. It's a terrible place to work for women. Most of the higher tanks are men who, due partly to cultural norms, treat women condescendingly and patronizingly. Zero support for career development beyond basic online classes in an outdated and glitchy system. No on the job training. Despite saying you're hired for strategy and management consulting, most people end up doing BA work like project management, staff augmentation, user story writing, etc. Interview process is disorganized and inconsistent. New employees get little to no onboarding. General lack of mentorship and career development. Have witnessed many ethically ambiguous actions. Strategy is to win projects on cost not merit, so chronically understaffed.
