If you are in marketing (as opposed to consulting), pay caps out in each title band. Some salary bands were compressed or eliminated, meaning less wealth and advancement potential for non-directors and non-partners. It's a very pointy pyramid.

Deloitte is about a unique culture! Deloitte is maybe one of the very few consulting firms that offer its employees the "work life balance" formula. I am still in contact with most of my ex colleagues who left Deloitte and went to different boutique, elite and Big Four consulting firms yet most of them could not adapt easily to the hectic and pressuring work environment at the other firms and others tried to get back to Deloitte. To wrap it up, Deloitte is really about getting the exposure, status, and enjoying personal life at the same time.
