Great clients and terrific staff. Room to be yourself, unlike some competitors where rigid uniformity is required. You will work hard, but will have access to significant opportunity inside the firm and out.
Employee - Manager
1) There was no meaningful training given to Experienced Hire employees, 2)Internal networks were more important than the quality of work you did for your clients i.e, who's posse were you in, 3) Partners abused their power and were often inappropriate, 4) Deloitte likes to say they have gender equality, but they did not (male employees American and foreign expected women to make photocopies, get coffee, junior staff treated women managers differently than the male Senior Managers, Male employees looked out for other male employees, but not the female employees, (old boys network is alive and well, etc., 5) Senior Managers were not team players and provided no community/team building environment, 6) Level of competition among team members was unusual - senior level colleagues sometimes were competing against more junior colleagues (it didn't make any sense). If you spoke out about anything, you were seen as rocking the boat, even if what you were saying was the truth, it didn't matter. I recently received a proposal from Deloitte and was horrified at the poor construct and outline of the proposal. The first 18 pages were Why Deloitte and the last 9 pages were dedicated to answering the questions of the proposals and they didn't even answer some of the specific points in the RFP. In terms of prestige, you are better off trying for a more elite firm.
