The firm has grown so enormous that individual career development are least on the priority list. As an employee your growth is very luck based and opportunities are skewed in a way that you don't need talent to get the right opportunities, you just have to find the right shortcut !

Too rigid. No freedom of expression.

Partners lack in-depth corporate experience. Not a very collaborative work environment

you are a totally dispensable resource, free to remove at any time; the only metric that finally matters is profitability, everything else goes to the background or is ignored

Culture of excellence, but stresses having fun with each other. Work hard, play hard

It has a good reputation. They do a great job with branding and representing themselves as leaders in the market.

the flex work environment is pretty good but it comes at the cost of developing good relationships with your colleagues

I was disappointed by the firm's willingness to not only work with, but pursue and prioritize working with corporations whose morality and values are dubious at best. I felt a great deal of hypocrisy when Deloitte leadership spoke internally and externally about it's values and commitment to social responsibility, while working with banks and oil/gas clients whose practices are purely profit-driven, and frankly harmful to society and the planet. Ultimately it was this hypocrisy that led to my resignation. I felt Deloitte's leadership gave lip service to social values while actually only pursuing a model built around profiteering and greed. I was disgusted by it, but sadly doubt the other big firms have any more integrity.

They are currently trying to fill their bench with new players and are flexible with negotiations

Large company with an incredible network and training resources. Though large, it still retains an entrepreneurial spirit. Very collaborative and client focused.

Instant recall with most firms (at least in my industries - Retail and CPG). People tend to lean towards believing that S&O folks would have a good mix of business and technical aptitude.

Former Employee - Manager
Was never staffed to engagements in my industry, was never staffed to the engagements that I was hired for and I disliked traveling 5 days a week. Partners were not well trained in people management. Male centric and women's opinions were often dismissed and invalidated. The firm has become overly complex and it is very difficult to navigate their careers website should I ever want to return. You really aren't an employee for life.

Excellent pay and benefits, and based on conversions with peers at other firms, a more employee-focused firm than the other Big 4
