you are a totally dispensable resource, free to remove at any time; the only metric that finally matters is profitability, everything else goes to the background or is ignored

Excellent pay and benefits, and based on conversions with peers at other firms, a more employee-focused firm than the other Big 4

I was disappointed by the firm's willingness to not only work with, but pursue and prioritize working with corporations whose morality and values are dubious at best. I felt a great deal of hypocrisy when Deloitte leadership spoke internally and externally about it's values and commitment to social responsibility, while working with banks and oil/gas clients whose practices are purely profit-driven, and frankly harmful to society and the planet. Ultimately it was this hypocrisy that led to my resignation. I felt Deloitte's leadership gave lip service to social values while actually only pursuing a model built around profiteering and greed. I was disgusted by it, but sadly doubt the other big firms have any more integrity.

I think it has an excellent reputation, though I believe this is more about marketing and hype than real performance. Internally there was an emphasis on appearances more than real results. The saying "no one ever got fired for hiring Feloitte" has, in my opinion, led to complacency and a normalization of appearances being more important than durable, effective results. Were I someday in a position to hire a consulting firm, I would look to a smaller firm with more accountability and less tendency to 'rest on laurels'.

Our core values, defined by the team, not the leadership are as follows: 1. Challenge Hard 2. Bring Energy 3. Go Together 4. Take Ownership These are value we all sign up to and live by, which makes for lots of happy people fighting to generate the creative and commercial tension required to create disruptive, new propositions. It's very much a family feel, and as part of a larger business since 2017, has really galvanised the Market Gravity team in the UK and other offices around the world.

Unless you drink the Kool-Aid this place is not for you. Client relations really don't matter much. It's all about politics. You can keep you client happier than anyone, but if you don't suck up to the right people and play the game, your career will go nowhere. On the flip side, you can do bad work and it doesn't matter if you're aligned with the right people. It's the most backwards place I have ever worked.

Extremely top heavy when it comes to good resources - the hiring/retention strategy off late has gone for a toss leading to a poor mid-management base (bothin terms of quality and attitude). We could literally see the cultural shift infront of our own eyes within a very short span of time.

Great reputation. Don't expect consultants to tell how to fix problems.

Externally, people respect Deloitte. Internally, I have met so many people over my 5 years there who view this place like I do. I am actively trying to leave. I know many people who have left like I have. There is not a lot of real talent there. There is, however, a lot of BS and the feds eat it up.

Overly complicated and not supportive of women or people programs.

Its market reputation is similar to other competitors. We can say that is a good reputation.

Tremendous exposure from the first project itself. You get to work on a veru broad spectrum of projects within a short span, while the firm slowly helps you build your own specialization
