If you get on a project that is bad, you are going to have to work hard and still not get good performance rating because they cannot afford to promote you on a bad project. Bad/ low budget, missing milestones. If you get on a good project... I never heard of any, then you might have a chance.

It really depends on the type of person looking for a role. If you have natural leadership and entrepreeurial drive, Deloitte is not an organisation that will not necessarily allow you to thrive at a pace best suited for you. I found there was a culture of partners taking the recognised credit for work and idea of the senior management and their teams. The process for reviewing the performance of directors down was also a process of instilling fear as well as allowing people to feel humiliated in front of their peers. I don't know if this practise still goes on, if it does it won't last in today's world.

The politics within the firm takes precedent to people's capabilities and success in decisions to be promoted or rewarded. A shame because of the amazing breadth of people with strong and vast experience

I would suggest that Deloitte have a clearer path of teaching the Consultants how to fit into their Culture. Learning that working overtime, I was only paid on a salary. Knowing all the benefits before joining would be nice and how the management assigns Consultants to tasks.
