Employee - Analyst / Associate

Best to know it's a place that's very political as it relates to career development and advancement. Great stepping stone company.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Redundant layers of management should be adjusted.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Had a relaxing work culture.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Not inclusive of different cultures.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Promotions based mostly on seniority should be scrapped. Just because someone has worked for a company for a long period of time, qualifies them for management. Individuals with a mix of experience (within & outside the company) can give a different perspective to the management team.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Raises are only around 3 percent annually and you have to work over 48 hours before given straight time.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Culture was the regular corporate America work culture. Promotions are earned but sometimes are still given.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Get the salary you need coming in.

Employee - Director

A leader in the defense market

Employee - Analyst / Associate

It is a typical Government contracts "company", that exists because of Gov funds. The work is dead end Government work. I was treated like snot. The day before Memorial Day 2009, I was requested to go work on a proposal in rural Massachusetts, leaving on the Monday holiday and returning maybe in 6 weeks or when they said I could, including staying up there on weekends and working 6 day workweeks.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

They will use you to make goals, then once goals have been met they discard you. Senior management takes all the credit for successes.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Wish the company was more worker friendly. Company does not support workers and does not provide appropriate training to help the worker succeed.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Would suggest a sitting VP in operations.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Should know that the company's hareholder value trumps all other key performance indicators.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Leadership and teamwork.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

I saw a lot of mixed cultures while I was there. Some were treated differently to me because of their culture.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

GD is a good company to be on a Resume.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Wish there more opportunities for former employees.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

During my tenure ('74-'92) senior leadership was a good old boys' club. Progressive/innovative thinking was not readily accepted.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Would suggest creating a career planning program that includes input from the employee.
