Employee - Senior Vice President
HSBC is bloated and overly bureaucratic. Most bankers are unhappy. Well more so than at other banks
Employee - Vice President
Would change all aspects of doing business. Weak corporate culture, no respect for employees, biased towards other cultures, discriminate against employees. Worst place to work in the US
Employee - Vice President
Do not work for this company! Discrimination is an understatement if you do not belong to a certain culture!
Employee - Vice President
Based on Europe's culture even though doing business in the US. Not a winning combination.
Employee - Vice President
Needs more long term view. It changes very often the Head of the Division, this adds a lot of investability.
Employee - Vice President
Too many changes happen at this company.
Employee - Vice President
The intention is good, but the example is not.
Employee - Associate
Would change commercial strategy Compensantions
Employee - Associate
Rarely fired anyone, so you'll be quiet in that sense, but you'll be underpaid. Little meritocracy. Many inefficient employees
Employee - Associate
Not commercial enough Low compensation compared to market
Employee - Senior Vice President
The main thing that needs to change at HSBC is culture. Within GB&M, I'd say that about 60-70% of the employees are really top notch. Unfortunately, those 70% happen to tend to be middle or lower level management. The higher up the corporate ladder you look at, the more you see BAD behavior, including illegal behavior, not just immoral. HOW to change it is simple in concept and impossible in practice. Start at the top. Remove people who lie, cheat, and pay fines (not even THEIR money, but HSBC's money) in order to not go to jail.
Employee - Senior Vice President
Zero loyalty to employees. If working for them works for you, and you're either willing to sell your soul, or risk being fired because you insist on telling the truth and doing a good job, go for it....but have a Plan B.
Employee - Senior Vice President
The best way to 1. keep your job, and 2. advance, is to have someone more senior than you as a friend. There is no other way to keep your job or to advance.
Employee - Vice President
Clearer direction from Senior Management on overall bank strategy.
Employee - Vice President
Very collaborative, almost to a fault. Difficult to get things done as there are many many levels of bureaucracy
Employee - Vice President
They have an opportunistic approach with no respect (other than formal statements) for values which really concern staff
Employee - Vice President
Wish there were better salaries and less burocratics.
Employee - Managing Director
Suggest a change in management.
Employee - Managing Director
Hard work will not be rewarded there. Best used as a stepping stone to somewhere real.
Employee - Managing Director
Dollar platform theater kind of culture. Hate Americans.
