Employee - Manager
Tactical and focused on bottom line. GBS knew that they needed strategic revamping but struggled to define their vision for the future
Employee - Manager
There is a bonus system but it is rarely paid out. Also, a lot of the benefits which used to be a draw to IBM have been diminished or eliminated, i.e. pension and free medical.
Employee - Manager
Very top down and bureacratic.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Crappy leadership

I am a contractor who has worked with them . They do not follow through well on projects. And they give most of their Oracle customers the same design

OLD SCHOOL
Employee - Manager
Salary + benefits, Bonus and good structure but do not promote from with in
Employee - Manager
IBM Global Services has called me many times to contract with them on Oracle apps (so that tells me my resume is strong and when they talk to me they are quite interested ) but then they do not follow through and I think what is happening is that they bid on the huge Oracle project (Global) but their cost is high and they do not have qualified internal employees so they contact independent's like me but then they do not get the bid and they do not bother to send out a statement

Re searchable
Employee - Partner
Tenured and old - not a meritocracy
Employee - Partner
Partners get a base, partner bonus and IBM stock grants. Only the base and grants ever materialize
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Huge company so you learn a lot about navigating without guidance but there is just so much bureaucracy it makes it hard to dive in.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
no real structure for pay raises.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
pretty big 10-y all around. very white male and very middle management-y.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
terrible
Employee - Associate/Consultant
For those of us in the trenches, it's more about how many hours you work than client satisfaction.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Reputation can be affected by location. I worked in the DC area and IBM didn't have the reputation as the best implementer in the area.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Extremely bureaucratic and emphasizes on unjustified rigor in being process centered. While they claim to be customer centric, they don't seem to be so in reality. Vision is short-sighted and tend to lose the big picture when running deals. They are miserable when it comes to treating their talent, often resulting in attrition of quality talent. Employee unfriendly for sure!
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Dated in terms of approach and style, bureaucratic, short-sighted and unapproachable
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Everyone knows IBM pays at the very bottom compared to other similar consulting companies. Added to this, its benefits and bonus structure are as good as non-existent. In 2015, even though the company did poorly in terms of financial results, the top executive earned a handsome bonus.. that helped the hard working employees realize where their bonuses were being directed.
