IBM seems to be de-valuing employee assets over the past 5 years or so, as evidenced by "pooling" consultants across industries. In addition, it doesn't seem to have a clear strategic direction and is mostly interested in generating revenue from landing large engagements.

IBM enterprise senior leadership is excellent and has great vision for the company, which does not seem to transfer down to GBS leadership. GBS leadership, in my opinion, is fairly tactically focused on financial results and does not have a clear vision or strategic direction, nor does it seem to be willing to invest in its future. This is evidenced by the many cadence calls that are focused on revenue generation without much of any strategic direction or help provided to the Partners in terms of meeting financial objectives.

Partner compensation is a combination of base pay + 35% annual incentive goal (mostly based on meeting financial objectives) + long term incentives in the form of RSUs

Open and honest communication is valued, as is driving creative solutions for clients

IBM is viewed by most as one of the IT market leaders. IBM's executive leadership is admired by many as well. However, they are also viewed as being expensive and not as strong as other management consulting organizations in providing business strategy expertise.
