IBM is retrenching staff in order to correct their EPS. Though consulting services are generally self-sustaining, but when it is critical, these are the first services which are axed because the bread and butter of the wider IBM business is the IT/ITES and Hardware business. Though Accenture Consulting is the closest competitor to IBM Business Services, but the importance given to consulting services is much more at Accenture.

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

My way or the highway approach - even if that doesn't fit the client need. No recoginition of experience, education, or past success. Treat consultants like a commodity.

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

Form over function - values standardized processes (which are great in some applications), but could not be flexible and nimble when needed.
