Navigant is a strong player in Healthcare and Energy industries, though perhaps more through scale and experience rather than strength of thought leadership or level of innovation.

Culture, travel expectations, etc. varies significantly by practice and business unit. It can be hard to bridge the silos, as the org structure and practice leadership shifts, and junior level employees need to really chart their own path in order to have any advancement opportunity.

Business facing employees are treated well, corporate non-revenue employees are not treated as well. Support staff is treated like they are indentured serfs.

Navigant is a decent place to work despite the corporate culture. Executive team makes decisions as if they consult "Dilbert" comic as a management guide. A recent (and incredibly emblematic example) - the firm recently moved to discretionary time off with 4 working days notice at the end of 2018. The policy took effect January 1 2019, making it impossible for staff to use their accrued time before it became useless. They have refused to pay out the accrued PTO balances and have have touted this change as a positive for employees despite the fact that it was met with near universal criticism. It is hard to think of a corporate team that operates so counter to its stated values.

Clients tend to think of the firm as being specialized in a single vertical / function - this has improved in recent years thanks to recent rebranding and marketing efforts to expand clients' awareness of our full range of our service offerings but still has a ways to go.

Current Employee - Manager
Responsive and collaborative - clients value our hands-on approach to problem solving and ability to rapidly deploy / scale teams in the face of demanding deadlines. Drawback is this can make some engagements unpredictable and take a toll of work/life balance but that's par for the industry.

Varies by practice but generally speaking, consultants have opportunities to step into leadership roles, manage teams / workstreams, and interact directly with clients earlier than their peers at other firms.
