Navigant's culture in the energy practice, at least in this office, is highly focused on engineering and technical skills. I find that there is a distinct pipeline of applicants with very specific degrees from 1-2 specific schools with candidates from very technology focused, engineering degrees. Thus, it feels like the every person in the office is an engineer with highly specialized quant skills and in depth technical knowledge. At times I feel like the odd one out simply because I am not an engineer by trade, although not at all unqualified since I studied specifically to work in this industry.
