With caveats. The firm as a whole is great, great projects, talented people, good culture. However, there are some support areas like the "specialist pyramid" which is managed poorly and is essentially acting like cheap labor for the same traditional consulting work. They are paid less and generally treated at a lower level. So, the answer depends on role and expectations.

Employee - Manager

Energetic and committed to excellence.

Those in the "specialist pyramid" are underpaid for similar work. By mixing them with the normal "consultant pyramid" on projects, there is a problem with disparity of pay.

Leadership is very committed to a great culture. They invest heavily in keeping things light-hearted while also creating an intense environment for exceptional delivery. For example, the company invests a lot of money in risk and values based training. The videos and games they pick are hokey, but pretty funny. It shows a mentality of taking the topics seriously, but not ourselves seriously all the time.

I work in automotive and the reputation isn't great in automotive, i.e. they don't really know us. However, the reputation in the consulting world is rapidly catching up to its financial performance over the last 10 years. It is already in the big 3 in Europe (behind only McKinsey and Bain according to Vault) and is up to number 6 in the U.S. according to Vault. It is only behind McKinsey, BCG and Bain when removing the audit-based companies. The company's hope is to change the Big 3 into the Big 4.

Probably not the same for all engagements but depends on who is in charge at the location you are working at. Some not very reasonable, and focused on their own success.

Oliver Wyman is not well known in the market as it operates as a boutique firm. However it is a part of a bigger group of companies called Marsh Mcleanen which is very well known.

Employee

Every employee was valued as a Human. There is a very friendly & collaborative work environment

Employee

Leadership team acts as great mentors

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

The office I was in was quite political, with some colleagues doing under handed things (like not communicating what a partner's request is for work on project) in order to promote themselves. Client service whoever was prioritized and everyone ensured the client had a great deliverable.

Compensation is very transparent and fair. Everyone is informed at the end of the year of the salary grades/compensation for the next year and bonuses for previous for grade levels
