Employee - Director
Was a place that works hard and plays harder. We celebrated success.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Very US-centric way of working, even outside the US. A very macho culture where early starts, late finishes, and presentee-ism is the norm. There was an expectation to conform to being "Pepsi-perfect" and other ways of working were dismissed out of hand. If you were male, from the food side of the business, and willing to work 12+ hour days and conform to the "Pepsi" way you were in; if not, an excuse was generally found to get rid of people
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The old boys network in which the food division always got promoted over the beverage one. Ironic given PepsiCo was first and foremost a beverage company.
Employee - Director
All important policies, codes etc., have been articulated but none are being followed. Hugely disappointing to see a woman CEO protecting male leaders for sexual offences just because it suits her game.
Employee - Director
There is no scope for an alternative point of view. Competence is frowned upon as it leads to insecurity in the leadership.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The CEO, Indra, is a strong leader and her visions are great. It is a large company and filtering her vision in culture will take time, however, it must be bonded with accountability so that those who deviate do not continue to thrive because their business results are good. Difficult company to advance in as an African American.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
I'd describe PepsiCo's culture as very competitive where employees are always looking for a leg up sometimes at the expense of each other. Very cliquish and sometimes depending on the division, not enough senior managers to balance the inexperience of younger managers who are sometimes misguided and a little too competitive.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
There is a very cliquish environment in Latin American and the Caribbean where male senior leaders are not accountable for behaviors that are a deviation from PepsiCo governing principles. They are not penalized and ultimately good talent goes out the door especially women and minorities. The company operating culture is a lot different from its stated culture and while diversity is embraced in principle it is still yet to be truly integrated and operable within the business units especially in LATAM.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Machoculture is something I'd change at PepsiCo
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Extremely competitive, and in leaned to those with more "political connections" in high positions.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Employee Evaluation Criteria should be adjusted.
Employee - Director
Is a place that is entrepreneurial and filled with smart/talented people.
Employee - Director
Wish there was less bureaucracy so that the great ideas that are generated have a chance to make it into implementation.
Employee - Director
My experience there made me who I am professionally and I thank PepsiCo everyday for that.
Employee - Director
The opportunity to grow and develop are unmatched working at PepsiCo; the long-term compensation is outstanding; however, they have incredibly high standards and low tolerance for mistakes. You need a strong backbone to survive, let along thrive. I wouldn't trade my 15 years of experience for anything, but I would not return.
Employee - Director
You will learn a great deal, you will be challenged, you will work with very caliber people. However, there is no "I" in team, but there certainly is in PepsiCo.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
They reward you for good performance.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Other than the need to always be promoted the culture was very positive.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
As most corporations, PepsiCo wants people to continued to be promoted and moved. They overlook sometimes that a person is excellent at they do and will continue to perform at an excellent level. I moved five times in seven years and wanted to stay at my current position but had to leave the company because they wanted me to move again.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
There is a lot of room for advancement working at PepsiCo.
