Employee - Manager
Strategy& (legacy Booz&Co) has lost its culture.
Employee - Manager
Watered Down - we had a great brand and practice that has deteriorated when PwC double the size of the practice/firm over night by taking unqualified people from their advisory practice and making them Strategy&.

Need to have personal connection in top management

Ok, more due to PwC image
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
High priced strategy firm. May not be worth the billing rates.
Employee - Manager
Horrific Work-Life Balance due to 4-5 days away from home office.
Employee - Manager
People knew Booz Allen Hamilton, then some heard that there was something called Booz & Company, but no one knows Strategy&. Giving up independence to be diluted in PwC was a bad strategic move (how ironic for a strategy consultancy...)

Partners do not really care about developing talent. They are more focused on their meeting their sales targets and their compensation to actually listen. They do attract great talent because of their name brand. Co-workers are smart, energetic, team oriented, and have great leadership skills.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Collaborative, collegiate, intellectual, and energized by need to address client challenges.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Known to be thought leaders by its peers.

Too much turmoil since the acquisition.

While the environment is still very uncertain given the PwC merger, most legacy Booz staff have seen little change and that is a positive. The firm still retains its previous feedback culture and hires the nicest and most intelligent individuals. Additionally, the salaries at the junior levels are higher than any other firm. It's still a great place to learn the classic strategy consulting skills.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
The senior leadership team is doing the best they can under the circumstances. The vision is clear and the senior team appears genuine.

The base salary is now 147K for post-MBA Senior Associates, plus a 24% bonus for average performance. This is in addition to the 401k match, HSA contributions, and other cash benefits. It's hard to say we're underpaid right now.

The number of benefits programs is overwhelming. One of the best new perks is student loan payment assistance. Anyone with student loans receives $100/month for up to six years. The sabbatical program is open to everyone and includes 20% of pay for up to 16 weeks.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
The culture is collegial and cerebral. Feedback is both given and expected to be given. Nearly everyone respects constructive criticism and frequently asks for it. Teams enjoy working together, with team dinners most nights.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
The reputation seems to still live with Booz & Company, which clients recognize once tied with Strategy&. There is certainly work to be done to educate clients on the new brand and until this is done, staff will continue to reference Booz & Company on their resume. Clients appear happy with the work, but brand does play a role in selecting a professional services firm. The brand needs to catch up to the quality of the firm.
