The firm has always been anchored in the motto 'Each of Us and All of Us.' People are treated like friends and family, not resources. There is formal training, but the real training is all through informal mentorship and open door policies in the office. When someone leaves TCG, they always comment on the people and friendships they leave behind, and often they come back for happy hours, holiday events, etc. I don't think this is a thing you can implement through process, it's just always been the way the place feels, and so the leaders who have been at TCG a long time have it ingrained in them. It's also a culture focused on great client outcomes, rather than hours and face time. So there's a lot more flexibility on the how and when and where you get things done, and I think people really value the relative autonomy that comes from that, particularly as you grow into greater responsibility.

First, I think people recognize TCG's focus on growth strategy. We don't do all types of consulting, and people know that, but for growth I think our name is up there with the best of them. Second, clients in particular always comment on the fact that TCG consultants seem "not like other consultants." I think it's because TCG folks really value collaboration with the client team, vs. forcing something down their throat.

It's a very close knit community. Having worked for a larger firm previously, I believe that The Cambridge Group has much more of a start-up, family type of feel.
