As a business school hire, we receive a very generous signing bonus as well as a tuition reimbursement bonus for those of us who had interned with the firm. In total, those bonuses account for 50% of our annual salary and is paid across a year and a half. Moving forward, I will not receive an annual bonus as a consultant, however, I feel that our above-average base salary makes up for the lack of bonus. At lower levels such as consultant, I prefer the larger salary compared to uncertain bonus.

Because we are small, there are one-off flexibility options. For example, one consultant works remote one week a month. Parents often leave early and then work later at night when their children are asleep. Mornings are very flexible and as long as you're in by 9:30am, there aren't any problems.

I imagine many aspects of the culture are consistent with other firms -- extremely bright people working hard to solve complex problems. One difference may be that the culture is not at all cut throat. We don't have quotas for how many people are or are not promoted each year, so I think that we are all well-positioned to succeed and collaborate with our peers.
