People were really great. Not much to change
Employee - Analyst
Has a pretty laid back culture, but a lot expected.

The facade was that of a Swiss bank but the reality was that of the shop

Mobility model needs to adjusted.

UBS is a great place to network and gain significant broker/dealer knowledge to take elsewhere and earn higher wages.
Employee - Associate
The lack of promotions and low compensation made for a dismissal work environment.

UBS needs more open communication and collaboration

I worked at UBS while in MBA school in London. I thought the culture of the IB in London was open to a point. The main change would be the frequency of change in reporting structure. Multiple teams had the MD they report into changed multiple times in a year. This places barriers to succeed in a promotion and develop a career path inside the firm.

Buttoned down work culture.

Less hierarchy, boost morale by doing company outings/events, promote from within
Employee - Associate
Compensation and benefits well below peers.
Employee - Associate
Management routinely overpromises and underdelivers, particularly on comp. The company seems to be in a never-ending cycle of cost cutting.

The senior managers still think of the bank in pre-financial crisis terms, expecting very long hours on understaffed teams despite the poor compensation.
Employee - Managing Director
UBS has a very poor culture and also a poor reputation in Nashville amongst recruiters. In addition, they have been in the news multiple times for unethical practices. They have also hired an artist to be their image consultant who is very public with her political views which I find appalling. I would not recommend anyone work for UBS or do business with UBS.
Employee - Managing Director
It was a very cut throat environment. Other team members are clearly out to make others look bad at every opportunity and they do so publicly.
Employee - Analyst
UBS is well known, so in that sense it is good. Also highly respected.
Employee - Analyst
Needs to give more responsibility to junior employees and trust their actions.
Employee - Analyst
Culture is boring, old, staid. a bit suffocating, but nice people for all that. Nothing wrong with it, nothing much right with either.

Working environment is something I would change at UBS
