Dr. Newman's work centers on translating and applying psychology to help people optimize their performance in the workplace. He is currently serving as Dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and is directing IE Business School’s initiatives in behavioral and positive leadership. Lee's work experience includes serving as an engagement manager for McKinsey & Company, and as a Founder and senior manager in two technology startups.
He has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, an MBA and a Masters in Technology Policy from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and a Bachelors magna cum laude with honors in Engineering from Brown University. His research and teaching focus on cognitive biases in managerial judgement and decision-making.
