The COVID-19 pandemic had dramatic impacts on financial markets across the globe, causing significant losses in a short period of time.
Watch our presentation, led by Auburn University’s Professor Dr. Damion McIntosh, where we discussed how financial markets around the world reacted to the onset and persistence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken by the governments to offset its adverse effects as it infiltrates their financial stability.
Dr. Damion McIntosh holds over 20 years’ experience as an accounting, banking, and finance academic and practitioner. Most of McIntosh’s experiences have been in financial institution regulation and supervision. Currently, McIntosh is a lecturer of finance at Auburn University where he teaches graduate and undergraduate finance courses including advanced financial systems, global financial markets, financial markets and institutions, financial sector regulation and supervision, and (risk) management of financial institutions.
In addition to his academic experiences, McIntosh is a banking supervision advisor with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and independent consultant on financial institution regulatory and supervisory issues. As such, McIntosh has provided technical assistance to regulatory and supervisory authorities in countries in Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, and South America. McIntosh holds a PhD specializing in finance and MBA from Southern Illinois University. McIntosh is also a Certified Finance Manager (CFM), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
