Work from Home Retrospective: the Good, the Bad, the Ugly, and … the Art of the Possible!

A year plus into the pandemic response finds a significant segment of the worlds’ workforce continuing to work from home. How have we survived? What have we learned? What will “return to work” look like? How will workplace practices and environments change as a result? What implications are there for homelife and education practices?

Key Observations from a seasoned citizen of the world:

• Hybrid work arrangements are here to stay; companies and employees both recognize benefits

• Remote work demands leaders step up their trust game and purposefully plan

• Remote work expects employees to be action oriented, effective communicators who can prioritize independently

• Working from home has further blurred and stressed the ever challenging “work/life management” continuum

• But….. Necessity is the mother of invention!
