The programme starts with a four day induction (Wednesday - Saturday) in February, followed by core module lectures on campus for approximately one weekend per month (Friday and Saturday) in your first year. Electives, taken in your second year, are offered in three formats to suit your schedule with online electives available if you want to minimize your visits to campus.
In your first year you will travel to Greater China for a one week residency and later join a three day study tour of a top business school in Europe. During your second year you will spend a further week at a top business school in the United States.

GMAT is not a compulsory requirement for admission to the Imperial Executive MBA.
However, if you have already sat or intend to take GMAT, you are welcome to submit your results as a good score overall can add weight to your application, particularly if you feel that your degree performance does not reflect your academic potential.

Professor Yip is the Associate Dean for Executive Programmes and one of the world’s leading authorities on global strategy and marketing, managing global customers and internationalisation. He is on the Editorial Advisory Board of MIT Sloan Management Review. Previous business positions include Vice President and Director of Research & Innovation at Capgemini Consulting and Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse (USA).
Assistant Professor of Design and Innovation
Dr Ileana Stigliani’s research focuses on how material artifacts and practices influence cognitive processes – including sensemaking and sensegiving, categorisation and perceptions of organisational and professional identities – within organisations. She received her PhD in Management from Bocconi University, Milan. Dr Stigliani is also a member of the Editorial Board of the European Management Journal.
Acting Dean of Imperial College Business School
Professor Nelson Phillips’ research interests include new institutional theory, entrepreneurship, family business and societal entrepreneurship, technology strategy, innovation and adoption of digital consumer devices. He has published more than 75 articles in leading management publications, and is currently the co-editor of the Journal of Management Inquiry. Professor Phillips teaches courses in strategy, organisational behaviour, innovation and leadership.
