The Global EMBA is designed to emphasize learning by doing. Students learn concepts (frameworks and theory) online and then apply them in experiential learning activities during campus residencies. Each residency begins with a C-suite panel where business leaders, with expertise in a selected topic, share their knowledge and insights. These panels frame the structure for the in-person residencies where faculty use a variety of first-hand learning tools including role-play, computer simulation, and negotiation. After applying and experimenting with a variety of tools, students reflect and learn from the experience. Two other unique elements of our program are Integrated Projects (IP) and Miami Business Mentoring (MBM). With IP, each student brings an actual business issue from their own firm and addresses it with the help of two of their classmates, who serve as consultants. In turn, they act as consultants on two other projects, giving them valuable exposure into business areas out of their specialization and industries outside of their own in a meaningful manner. MBM pairs each student with a seasoned business leader, who serves as a mentor for the students during their time in the program. Not only does MBM offer students unparalleled access to the top echelons of business, but it also provides them with sound professional advice as they grow both personally and professionally.
