Bob is a Professor in Strategy and Global Management (SGMA) and Business and Environment (BSEN). He has been teaching at the Haskayne School of Business since 1973. He received his BA (Mathematics) from St. Vincent College (Latrobe, Pa.), BS in Mechanical-Industrial from University of Notre Dame, MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and PhD in Business Administration from Ohio State University. Bob is currently the Academic Director for the Petroleum Land Management concentration.

Bob is currently researching virtual work and telework in Calgary, a continuation of his previous research. Bob’s work has been published in Growing the Virtual Workplace: The Integrative Value Proposition for Telework by Verbeke, Schulz, Greidanus, Hambley, a book published by Edward Elgar in 2008. He has won 21 outstanding teaching and student service awards and has been named to 7 Who’s Who publications.

Bob has coached undergraduate student intercollegiate competition teams to 73 national championships and ranked first and second overall for 31 consecutive years, won two world-level undergraduate titles, and won three world-level MBA championships.

Jaana Woiceshyn holds a BBA and an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (Aalto University Business School), and a PhD from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her academic career, Jaana was involved in operating a small business in Finland and worked for a consulting firm in Calgary. She teaches strategic management and business ethics to undergraduate, MBA and Executive MBA students at the Haskayne School, and has taught as a visiting professor in Finland and Taiwan. She has also given seminars on these subjects to various business audiences, including the Directors’ Program at Haskayne.

Jaana Woiceshyn's research focuses on managerial cognition and decision making, including ethical decision making, and the role of innovation in firms' strategy and performance. Applying her expertise in qualitative methods, she has studied adoption of technological innovations in the graphic arts industry, product innovation in biotechnology firms, and implementing innovations in the health care sector. The Canadian oil and gas industry has been a frequent context of Jaana's research. She has studied adoption of technological innovations by oil and gas companies and their integrative capability and value creation, as well as decision making of effective CEOs.

Jaana's research in business ethics focuses on ethical decision making and its role in firms' performance, which is also the theme of her book, How to Be Profitable and Moral (Hamilton Books, 2012). Her current projects include health care innovation, cognitive integration as the microfoundation of firms' strategy, and knowledge production in business schools.

Alfred is assistant professor in the finance area and has been teaching at the Haskayne School of Business since 2005. He received an undergraduate degree and PhD from the University of Vienna. Prior to Joining Haskayne, Alfred held positions at the University of Vienna and the University of British Columbia.

Alfred teaches a MBA introductory finance course and a class on Corporate Finance for PhD students. Alfred's areas of research interest include bank regulation, financial stability, and corporate finance.

Alfred is currently researching under what conditions re-negotiations can facilitate a private sector workout of a financial crisis. He also works on how information produced by financial markets can be optimally used in bank regulation. In his previous research, Alfred developed several methods on how to measure the probability of a financial crisis, analyzed conflicts of interest for financial Analysts, and looked at the empirical fit of alternative option pricing models. Alfred’s work has been published in Management Science, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Review of Finance.
