The ISM Admissions Committee believes that the TOEFL and GMAT do not adequately predict how students will perform in a classroom with other highly experienced professionals from around the world. Instead, the ISM admissions process places emphasis on personal interviews, past academic performance, and professional experience in the application process. The ISM strategy for recruitment was confirmed in a US News and World Report article, which highlighted this trend by citing several large universities and business schools that have discontinued using standardized tests in their admissions procedures and now rely on personal interviews, past academic performance, and professional experience in the application process.

Mark Esposito, DBA
Dr. Mark Esposito is a Professor of Business and Economics, teaching at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Harvard University Extension and at the University of Cambridge. He serves as Institutes Council Co-Leader, at the Microeconomics of Competitiveness program (MOC) at the Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, at Harvard Business School. Mark consults in the area of corporate sustainability, complexity and competitiveness worldwide, including advising to the United Nations Global Compact, national banks and NATO through various Executive Development Programs. From 2013-14, Mark advised the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, in the analysis of the EU systemic crisis and worked as cross theme contributors for the World Economic Forum reports on Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship

Dr. de Coning is an academic from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, where he also holds a senior management position as Chief Director: Strategic Initiatives and Human Resources. His academic focus and background are in the fields of Strategic and General Management; Entrepreneurship – with a special focus on Entrepreneurship in small and medium sized enterprises as well as in Corporate Entrepreneurship (Intrapreneurship); and, in Human Resources Management.
Over the last couple of years he has worked extensively on projects aimed at the internationalization of small and medium sized enterprises and is currently also involved in a major project on this topic sponsored by Barclays Africa. He is also a visiting professor at both Coventry University as well as Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom, where his work focuses on the subject of Systemic Entrepreneurship. He is also a visiting professor at EMS Strasbourg, where he teaches Strategic Human Resources Management. Professor de Coning is an experienced supervisor and study leader at both the Masters and PhD levels. He has wide ranging international experience and currently also works extensively with the Association of Africa Universities (AAU) to advance the functionality of member universities. This is done in collaboration with international agencies such as CASE.

Dr. Ivonne Chirino-Klevans is an expert in Global Executive Education. She has held executive positions such as Assistant Dean of Executive Education for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as well as Program Director for Duke Corporate Education.
Her experience is in program design, international client management, cross-cultural organizational environment assessments, international talent attraction and retention, compensation programs, training needs assessment, training management, and impact of training. She has consulted for clients such as Deutsche Bank, TRW, Ford Motor Company, among others. Her work has been featured in CNN, Caribbean Business, Talent Management Magazine, among other publications.
Earlier in her career, she also served as the psychologist for the Mexican national rowing team, and contributed to the team winning a silver medal at the 1991 Pan Am Games. She herself is a Pan American games medalist in gymnastics. She combines her experience as an executive, elite athlete and psychologist to create action learning experiences in online and face-to-face learning communities.
Chirino-Klevans received a PhD in Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana, an MBA from Univesidad de las Américas, and a Masters and BA in Psychology from Georgia College and State University.

Young is a corporate education consultant who designs and implements seminars and training programs in finance, marketing, and strategy. He has over 30 years of experience in this area of consulting as a course designer, instructor, and facilitator.
Among his present and past clients are: IBM, AT&T, Verizon, ITT, ABB, Dow Chemical, Ericsson, Siemens, Bayer Diagnostics, Sonoco, ST Microelectronics, BT (British Telecom), Ingersoll-Rand, Ericsson, MasterCard International, American Express, Booz&Co, the Emirates Bank Group, NDB Bank and Citibank.
He has conducted corporate education programs for these and a number of other companies in over 30 countries throughout the world. Prior to founding his own consulting firm, Phil was a Professor of Economics and Finance at Pace University in New York, where he taught in the MBA program for 25 years. While at Pace he was appointed as the first visiting professor in IBM's International Finance, Planning and Administration School located in NY and Belgium. In addition, he was the Director of Corporate Education for Pace University. His responsibilities included the academic leadership of Pace's corporate education and Executive MBA programs.
Young has also taught in executive education programs sponsored by Cornell University, Columbia University, The University of California at Berkeley, Thunderbird School of Global Management, and the Duke Corporate Education.
Young received a B.A. from the University of Hawaii, a Master's degree in international relations from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in economics from New York University.
