Dr. Kent Rhodes serves as a core faculty member with Pepperdine University's Doctoral Programs in Organizational Change and Organizational Leadership and MBA Programs where he teaches courses in leadership, applied behavioral sciences, organizational theory, and ethics. He also serves as the Ombudsman for Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Rhodes is an entrepreneur who maintains a successful coaching and consulting practice for a variety of privately held and family-owned enterprises. He is an expert in organizational effectiveness and development and understands merger and acquisition integration, particularly as it applies to ensuring overall acquisition success, boosting profitability, retaining talent, fortifying a strong culture and building and maintaining key relationships. He is experienced in strategic planning with an emphasis in clarification of mission, vision, and cultural influences in organizations and how those factors influence branding and marketing.

Rhodes founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of OnCourse Network, Inc., an Internet Education Company. He successfully negotiated the sale of the company to a Silicon Valley publicly traded corporation and subsequently served as a principal with that company in San Jose, California until successfully completing its acquisition and integration growth strategies in 2001, when he joined the Pepperdine faculty as Visiting Professor.

He holds membership in the Academy of Management, The United States Ombudsman Association, The Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, and the Institute for Global Ethics.

Charla Griffy-Brown is an accomplished professor, board member and consultant who leads transformational change. She works extensively in the area of digital innovation helping organizations leverage new opportunities through analytics, risk evaluation, and emerging technology deployment to achieve their strategic objectives. She also has extensive experience working with executives in the area of information security. Her track record includes working with C-level executives and boards for public and private companies across different verticals including manufacturing and services industries. Having lived and worked extensively in the Asia-Pacific region she brings a global perspective enabling her to engage with executives to identify and solve mission critical problems as well as design strategy. Her published work demonstrates her unique set of skills in critical reasoning and expanding perspectives on technology deployment to achieve strategic objectives. She has been recognized as a thought-leader for her published work and is now distinguished as Editor-in-Chief of the international journal, Technology in Society.

Charla has a portfolio of global business and academic experience that intersects business, executive development, and consulting. She has experience across multiple verticals working with organizations to design their business strategy, taking into account opportunities in digital innovation to reduce costs, increase their ROI and expand their customer base. She worked with SAP and other multinational organizations to deploy SaaS systems in order to achieve sales growth and expand market share. She has also worked with organizations (public and private) to deploy customer-facing systems embracing new business models in this area.

As a tenured full-professor at Pepperdine University, she has trained hundreds of executives in the areas of business process redesign and enterprise architecture. Importantly, she has extensive experience working with executives and boards in the area of information systems security and risk as an element of all new technology initiatives. Charla has a strong track record helping executives implement new initiatives in enterprise architecture, including agile, hybrid and cloud-based enterprise systems. From 2016-2018, working with the principal of Blue Lava consulting, she completed a project involving 80 companies and 200 executives and board members to develop a risk-based approach to information security. This approach was presented at the Pacific Telecommunications Conference and she has worked with business leaders and executives to deploy this approach in organizations such as Disney, CitiNational Bank, Johnson & Johnson, and Nintendo. She has been a regular speaker at the Pacific Telecommunications Council annual conference since 2012.

In addition, to her current work serving on corporate boards and as a strategic advisor to executives, she has been a featured speaker sponsored by the US State Department in transitional economies such as Bangladesh and Bulgaria where she has worked with government advisors and heads of state. Most recently, Dr. Griffy-Brown has conducted research at companies such as Honda, Hilton Hotels and Pratt-Whitney Rocketdyne/Boeing. She has worked with CIOs from the U.S. Treasury Department, the Internal Revenue Service, the US Department of Homeland Security, FDIC and NASA exploring critical success factors for these roles. She continues to be a featured speaker at international conferences and workshops including co-leading CyberSecure LA 2018 with SecuretheVillage.org. Dr. Griffy-Brown graduated from Harvard University, is a former Fulbright Scholar, and holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. She has worked for NASA in programming at the Kennedy Space Center and served as a consultant for the United Nation's Global Environmental Facility and the European Commission.

Dr. John G. Mooney is associate professor of information systems and technology management and academic director of the Executive Doctor in Business Administration at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. He also serves as the Graziadio School academic director to Pepperdine University’s Institute for Entertainment, Media, Sports and Culture. Dr. Mooney holds a BS in computer science and a master of management science both from University College Dublin, and a PhD in information systems and business strategy from UC Irvine. He was named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems in December 2018, and received the George L. Graziadio "Outstanding Faculty" award in April 2018. 

Dr. Mooney was a visiting scholar at the MIT Sloan Center for Information Systems Research from 2010-2011 and continued his affiliation as research associate until 2016. He currently serves as chair of the Association for Information Systems Leader Excellence Award Committee, as a member of the External Advisory Board for Lero – the Irish Software Research Centre (funded by Science Foundation Ireland), and as external examiner for IT, Operations and Project Management at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He serves as a member of the editorial boards of MIS Quarterly Executive, the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, the eService Journal and the Journal of Global Responsibility. He was a co-founder of Realex Payments and served as a non-executive director until its acquisition in 2015. His current research interests include management of digital innovation and business executive responsibilities for managing digital platforms and information resources.

At the Graziadio School, Dr. Mooney previously served as e xecutive director of the Institute for Entertainment, Media and Culture from 2015-2018, associate dean of Academic Affairs and Online Programs from 2014-2015; department chair for Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems and Decision Sciences from 2012-2014; and as associatedean for academic programs at the Graziadio School from 2005-2010. In the latter role, his responsibilities included leadership and oversight of the development and delivery of the Graziadio School’s portfolio of degree and certificate programs. He co-founded the AACSB Associate Deans Affinity Group in 2008 and served as its founding chair. In collaboration with Deborah Spake, John developed AACSB’s “Seminar for New Associate Deans” in 2011. He was vice president for chapters and affiliated organizations at the Association for Information Systems (AIS) from 2004-2007, and served as conference co-chair for the 37th International Conference on Information Systems that was held in December 2016 in Dublin, Ireland.
