Experiential learning is an important part of the UConn EMBA, which strives to develop global managers and thought leaders. The international study course and trip enables participants to experience developing economies and rich cultural histories first-hand. This experience also allows participants to gain a better understanding of how global concepts and theories learned in the classroom are applied in the global arena.

The Executive MBA program at UConn is the perfect solution for any busy professional looking to develop their business skills and accelerate their career. The EMBA program is carefully crafted to provide working professionals with an unparalleled academic, social, and professional growth experience. The program challenges students to reach the apex of their personal abilities by challenging them academically and professionally. The course content is interesting, meaningful, and has clear applicability to the everyday work of mid-level to executive-level managers.
As an executive-level manager, I found the EMBA program to be the complete package. The adjusted schedule allowed me to maintain a demanding work schedule alongside a rigorous course load. The caliber of the instructors and the alignment of the content are exceptional, and the components exclusive to the EMBA program, including the cohort structure, the executive project, and the international trip, are major advantages. The cohort program allowed me and my colleagues to engage in collaboration and rich discussions in a setting that is unlike what any part-time or full-time program could offer us. The cohort learning environment is intimate, rigorous, and fun. I measure the program’s value in not only my career growth, academic learning, and skills development, but also in the opportunities that UConn’s EMBA program gave me to build meaningful, lifelong relationships with a group of like-minded professionals.

Professor Chinmoy Ghosh has been a faculty member at the department of Finance at the University of Connecticut since 1986, the year he graduated from Pennsylvania University with a Ph.D. in Finance with minors in Economics and Quantitative Analysis. He has taught at the undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, Part-time Professional MBA, and Ph.D. levels. He has won the MBA best Teacher of the Year award in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003. In 2003, he won the EMBA best teacher of the year award. He won the SBA Outstanding Service Award in 2002.
His research primarily focuses on the efficiency of the capital market, particularly with respect to the impact of managerial decisions on stock prices. He has published in major academic finance journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Financial Services Research, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Economics and Finance, Journal of Urban Economics, and Journal of Property Finance.
His research has been nominated for the Best Article Award at the School of Business. He won SBA/SNET Best Article Award in 1990. More recently, his research has explored the valuation of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and American Depository Receipts (ADRs). One of his papers on ADR won the best competitive paper award in the area of International Finance in the 1998 Financial Management Association meetings. His consulting assignments include Fidelity Investments, Prudential Inc., International Development Research Council (IDRC), Cigna, and IBM Global Finance.
He is also an active consultant in the seminar circuit of the AICPA and AIMR CFA Program. He has presented research findings at several international academic meetings. He set up and is currently the Director and Chairman of the Board of Advisers for the Student Managed Fund at UConn, a $1million fund managed entirely by UConn undergraduate and MBA students. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the UConn Coop.

Professor Robin Coulter’s research focuses on consumer behavior issues with strategic marketing implications, with particular attention to global citizenship and cross-cultural consumer behavior, branding in developed and emerging markets, digital imaging and visualization in consumer research, and numerical cognition and pricing. Professor Coulter’s work has been published in marketing and social science journals, including Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, International Journal for Research in Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Advertising Research .
Professor Coulter is Past President President of Academic Council for the American Marketing Association, and is an active member of the Association for Consumer Research. Included among Dr. Coulter’s consultancies are New York Life Investment Management, Procter and Gamble, McNeil Consumer Products, and Coca Cola.
Professor Coulter has taught consumer behavior and integrated marketing communications in the undergraduate program, and Market-Driven Management, Global Business Issues, and the Executive Management Project in the Executive M.B.A. program. Professor Coulter has taught socio-cultural aspects of consumer behavior, introduction to the marketing academy, and research methods in the Marketing Ph.D. program.
