Employee - Manager

Yes, if under the age of 30. Opportunities are world-wid. No, if over age of 30. Company lays off older people because they are too expensive to keep.

Employee - Manager

Upper management is top heavy and organization is multi-matrixed causing inefficient decision-making.

Employee - Manager

Compensation dependent on experience and willingness to relocate.

Employee - Manager

Vacation time dependent on years with company. No other perks.

Employee - Manager

Small offices were hard working. Good people at lower levels. Upper management spoke down to lower-level employees.

Global firm. Standard international culture

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

The company offered me a promotion to project manager but only gave me a 1.5% raise. To take on twice as much work for the same salary was a little disappointing. There is no formal training and the voice of non managerial level employees is not valued. The managerial team in the construction services group had no leadership experience and had a lot of trouble mapping out their vision. Many times they would say things should be done one way and then change it a week later causing the project to be thrown out and restarted. Management looks at everything as a fire drill for non managerial employees even if they don't have a clear vision of what they actually want done.

There was no culture. My boss was based in a different city and wouldn't even tell my team when he came into town.

You are just a cog in the wheel. The company is too big and you will feel like just a number. My suggestion would be to work somewhere else where you are more valued. The health insurance coverage gets worse every year. They sub out a lot of HR roles and the individuals covering education reimbursement are less than helpful. I think that education reimbursement is an amazing thing to offer. If you dont complete everything before your class and have it approved in the system then you will lose your reimbursement. They provide no clear direction on how to complete the class registration or notify you that this needs to be completed. I fought for 4 months to get reimbursed for a class that was approved by my manager and hr. AECOM tried to make me cover the $1600 class that I took to be better at my job due to semantics. I worked for them for 4 years and got promoted every year. In 2016 my group was underfunded by the client and they had to lay people off in my group. We had multiple phone calls about how many opportunities there were at AECOM and how we shouldn't worry about getting laid off. The group was forced to cut half of its staff and the only opportunity they offered me was 4 hours away in DC. I live in New York. As I said before, you are just a cog in the wheel at AECOM. They don't value their employees and your employment isn't secure here.

Employee - Manager

Poor leadership, short-term bottom line focus, toxic work environment.

Employee - Manager

Short-term bill-ability is the only thing valued.

Employee - Manager

Giant consulting/engineering machine.

Employee - Analyst

Profit-oriented, no growth in the company.

You have to be highly utilized to still be in toe.
