Employee - Manager
Approachable, run the business as if it was their own, working on continuous improvements, recognize years of under investment and are strategically investing to grow.
Employee - Manager
High bonus potential for top performers. You will work very hard to earn a top bonus but it is fully achievable.
Employee - Manager
No vacation policy "take time off as you are between projects". Strong focus on utilization.
Employee - Manager
People who like to work hard and play hard. Very experienced, highly educated professionals who are action oriented and good a solving problems.
Employee - Manager
Working to grow the brand. Still viewed as a restructuring firm rather than global professional services.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Terrible place to work. No women in leadership positions. Works like organized crime - you bring in the business and partners take it. Unethical. Take advantage of clients. Worst place I have ever worked.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Clueless. Out of touch. Allow unethical behavior. Siloed. Really does not supervise.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Compensation is the biggest lie. Pay low base salaries with promise of high billings. Then they take that away at the end of the year, even when earned. Run for the hills. They cannot be trusted.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Culture is rotten to the core. Most employees are miserable and want out. What does it say when there is no formal alumni group for a PS firm? Other clients have run into think they A&M are bullies. I have lost job opportunities because of the lack of respect for Alvarez and Marsal.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Have come to find out they are not respected. They are always the smartest in the room.
Employee - Partner
Eat what you kill firm. You may as well go off on your own.
Employee - Partner
Aggressive
Employee - Partner
A&M is comprised of a group of sole proprietors. Each partner generates his/her own business and it is very competitive to acquire business. I have had other partners go behind my back while I was on vacation with my personal clients.
Employee - Partner
Good for restructuring
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Not a good place for coming in as an experienced hire. Firm is built on nepotism and relationships that you bring in. Formed off bones of Anderson, and very much still an Anderson old-boys club.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
They do not match 401k contributions, and if you do not choose to contribute to the 401k (which has a poor variety of limited options) then they automatically deduct from your bonus up to the maximum 401k contribution and put this amount into the 401k, leaving the remainder for your actual bonus.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Nepotistic.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
best known for restructuring.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Little effort is expended to mentor lesser experienced consultants.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Certain Partners would not include others in team discussions unless doing so directly and positively affected their bottom line. Mentoring was virtually non-existent.
