Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)
They treat the brand and the company well.
Employee - Director
Yes if you are a looking for a workplace that isn't demanding. If one is looking for growth and advancement, probably not.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Leadership training. Culture / People
Employee - Director
American Express is a company that offers you new opportunities. I was approached and then ended up working with a work visa and spent 5 years in the USA and Canada. That was very rewarding and allowed me to grow professionallv.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Slc office has reduced in size to the point there are few positions available and no advancement possibilities in Slc or from slc
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Culture is no longer friendly and supportive. Hiring decisions are political, not meritocratic. This is only a good place to work if you are planning to have kids soon as they have a great mat leave policy.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
That's the power behind the name is only one surface deep.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The company in its entirety isn't bad, but the leadership team at the director and VP level don't cultivate growth and are very good at belittling employees who are new to the process, environment or role. I've seen several instances of corporate bullying and it's uncomfortable to watch. After seven years, and two downsizes within this "multi-million" company, I left and have never been happier.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
When I worked there, the benefits and salary were very competitive. Options to advance if you chose to and management always allowed you to put your family first. Basically you had a job to do and they don't care when or how you did it as long as it was done right and on time.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Culture is to get the job done, partner with who you need to partner with and take time for family/friends.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Expect to work hard, but the culture makes you want to work hard for them. You will be rewarded for your work. Do not try to take advantage of their flexibility as there are many people waiting for your spot in the company.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
This company works on a "who you know" basis. They don't cultivate growth. They will only hire internally those who are not looking to advance.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Great relationships, excellent sociability, but difficult to build a career and easy to just get lost.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Culture is positive and rewarding, taking care to promote individuals rather than solely the group.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Yes, if you want core consumer marketing training at the beginning of your career. No, if you are looking for an employer for more than five years, or if you wish to work there after age 40.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
The culture is very competitive and intense. Borderline "eletist".
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
You will get fabulous early career training. The core skills are transferable, but the credit card industry experience is only transferable to a small niche of companies.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Very poor management structure with poor decision making
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Huge pressure to sell bogus "financial plans". Unreachable sales goals. Employees leave. Amex keeps the clients.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Odd culture that does not like people to share innovative ideas
