Employee - Director
It was a wonderful place to learn and grow but some of the VPs/SVPs were very political and created little niches of fans and employees and excluded others.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
The management is very clickish and unwilling to help people that are not in their "group"
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
It is old and stale... No way they will be in business in 20 years if they don't change the way they do business.
Employee - Director
Ethically substandard and disingenuous
Employee - Director
Back-stabbing work culture
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Work environment wasn't healthy
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The culture is not very friendly to new people coming in. Even though the tout that thy want "new bold", the leadership, with the exception of one manager, was very jealous about my income and sought to squelch and discredit my ideas. Middle management is petty, disgruntled and ignorant. And those are some of their good qualities. Too archaic of a company for a fast changing world. When was the last App they released. That is a clear indication that they have a dinosaur mentality and will become extinct.... Sorry... you did ask me to opine!
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The company is ridiculously archaic in almost every facet, especially, IT.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Amex is known for its passive aggressive communication which affects every aspect of the culture.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Does not value creatives.
Employee - Director
Accertify division is toxic
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Passive aggressive, conformist company culture
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Passive aggressive, comformist
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Odd culture that does not like people to share innovative ideas
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Huge pressure to sell bogus "financial plans". Unreachable sales goals. Employees leave. Amex keeps the clients.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Very poor management structure with poor decision making
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Culture is positive and rewarding, taking care to promote individuals rather than solely the group.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Great relationships, excellent sociability, but difficult to build a career and easy to just get lost.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
This company works on a "who you know" basis. They don't cultivate growth. They will only hire internally those who are not looking to advance.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The company in its entirety isn't bad, but the leadership team at the director and VP level don't cultivate growth and are very good at belittling employees who are new to the process, environment or role. I've seen several instances of corporate bullying and it's uncomfortable to watch. After seven years, and two downsizes within this "multi-million" company, I left and have never been happier.
