Employee - Director
As a contractor, yes I'd recommend working at Apollo. as an FTE, I would encourage them to try to understand Apollo's long-term commitment to the role they are applying for.
Employee - Director
Work hard play hard.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
I worked for University of Phoenix which Apollo Groups owns. I was there for 4 years. My experience was amazing with the company. Great leadership, training, free education, and culture. However, for an entry position salary is 50-65k. The company does have low modality upward. I left the company to make more money in sales.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Yes, the leadership was empowering. Training and coaching techniques were done weekly. I was on a top performing team who worked hard and had fun together. The company also provided team building events and free lunch often.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Best things about working at Apollo Group is the training and coaching techniques. Also, I was able to a free degree and work full time.
Employee - Director
I was actually employeed in Diamond Bar, CA. My 2nd employment was in Houston, Tx. Both experiences was they were fair, professional, motivating and encouraging. I actually look forward to connecting with the company again and as soon as there's an opening.
Employee - Director
I was actually employeed at the Diamond Bar, CA and in 2000 in Houston, Tx. In both positions the company was supportive, professional and extremely motative.
Employee - Director
Everyone had a competitive attitude and upper management made it fun.
Employee - Director
While working here, I was able to obtain my degrees with financial support of the company.
Employee - Director
It is good place to work and learn new technologies as we grow in the organization
Employee - Director
The pay and benefits were good. However, the leadership of the organization was not what you would expect for an organization that size. Many execs had started in the call centre and been promoted from there. While high tide floats all boats as things became more difficult leadership was erratic.
Employee - Director
There was a real challenge in the culture as new people were brought in to help improve the business. Leaders and others who had grown up in the organization were very resentful and tried very hard to resist change. Change management was poor and it became a crazy cycle of keeping trying things and sticking with nothing.
Employee - Director
The whole business situation is tentative, enrollment is down, student pricing is under review by the government. I would not consider taking a position unless there was a guaranteed severance policy that included at least 6 months of pay.
Employee - Director
Strategy not unified. Best practices in business process management and project portfolio management not followed or understood.
Employee - Director
Very ingrown. It's who you know not what you accomplish
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
At present, the company appears to be grossly unstable especially since it was recently acquired and hired a new president at the University of Phoenix.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
At the University of Phoenix-Detroit Campus, the culture moral is extremely low due to the reach out of several on ground program. In addition, the University tends to show biases in regard to opportunities.
Employee - Director
Specifically, I worked for the University of Phoenix as a Director of Academic Affairs for the Chattanooga campus. I would not recommend them for the underhanded way they work to eliminate anyone who does not embrace chaos as a reasonable game plan. Many I worked with are gone and anyone who challenged bad decisions had targets on their backs.
Employee - Director
Note, not all campuses were the same and I received many reports that the culture at my campus, in terms of faculty and faculty satisfaction were an anomaly. At many places there was a constant struggle between the academics and the business side. The business side was oppressive and "numbers covered a multitude of sins." There were a number of great people working there, but it was a very stressful and oppressive atmosphere.
Employee - Director
Selling the school was the best move they could make, but it is still run by people squeezing quarters to find pennies and destroying good people along the way. Unless they changed the university leadership and the focus on promote academics over dollars, I would not recommend the company. Again, each campus was its own "universe" but there is (I still have contacts there) confusion and chaos on the "best way to organize" the structure of the existing campuses and the employees who should be student focused and not constantly on the lookout for any offer to leave.
