Stodgy culture

Employee - Managing Director

BB&T has a terrible culture that is resistant to change and that rewards status quo and alienates those who bring new ideas. The investment banking business is in a death spiral that is beyond repair. Senior management is uneducated in modern banking and ineffective in their communication, direction and strategy for the company. The place really needs to be shut down...there is no other solution.

Employee - Managing Director

No one should work for this company...period.

Employee - Managing Director

Not team oriented, old boy type of place to work where bigoted and chauvinistic behavior was tolerated. People arrived late, left early and didn't feel an obligation to let their superiors know when or where they were, when they were not at the office during business hours. A total disaster.

Employee - Managing Director

Poor senior management and little commitment from the bank to support Capital markets

Employee - Managing Director

Its a regional bank- Capital markets is NOT viewed as integral- They don't even offer shares of stock to Capital Markets employees- its a joke

Employee - Managing Director

Culture was toxic- constant in-fighting and distrust of managers- Frankly was a shitshow

Employee - Senior Vice President

More product should be added to company

Employee - Senior Vice President

Most important thing to know are the Small markets

Employee - Senior Vice President

Country club culture in main office.

I worked at BB&T as a contractor implement ERP/SAP and it could of been a very stressful job, but BB&T did a great job of making us welcome and not creating any additional stress. Even though we worked long hours, it was still a pleasure to help them. The best feedback, was they were very satisfied with the work we did and they we there to help us any way they could. (i.e requirements) The only problem we encountered was the dungeon where we had all out meetings in- no windows, no cell coverage or intranet, wifi.

Good management team that is there to help you and make you feel welcome and help you in any way

Employee - Associate

Very positive outlook all the time- your could tell they like working there. Even the BB&t employees that were displace from home for many months to get ERP installed, all had positive outlooks. This come from the management team and just rolls down hill.

Employee - Associate

Management-Non driven, everyone is trying to find a way out. Equity research is messed up.Bad place to work.

Employee - Associate

Management is opaque and untrustworthy. Does not care about its associates at all. Work life balance is a myth. They will entice you by saying all good things during your interview or internship, but the real face comes out when you are hired full time. Run away

Employee - Associate

One of the worst culture. Management is opaque and vague. Culture is not collaborative at all.
