Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
As most Booz Allen employees are 100% on client site now, there is less of a centralized culture in the firm. For some, Booz Allen is simply the name on their paycheck while they work and interact exclusively with clients and client-site personnel. There are certainly pockets of strong camaraderie and shared identity, but they are generally location and interest-focused.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Top shelf in the Federal and Defense sectors. Building a reputation in other industries.
Employee - Manager
I would recommend working at Booz Allen Hamilton depending on the team, but only if they join a team with the right management and leadership. There is incredible potential to get exposed to lots of different areas (functionally and industry-wise), develop professionally with regards to managing. At the same time, there is also a lot of hierarchy and a specific culture around socialization and 'hall files' (i.e., what others think of you quickly spreads).
Employee - Manager
Culture depends on the team, but collaborative, social, open (though sometimes gossipy).
Employee - Manager
Very strong with public sector consulting; unclear in the market with commercial as it finds its footing.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Highly professional and results oriented

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Collaborative work culture.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Good reputation other than the Snowden and other cyber related contractor breaches.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
This relates to Booz & Co (now part of PWC). Booz is/was a great firm to work for. Very smart and humble folks who have an appetite not only for coming up with the right answer, though for helping empower clients to make change. Internally, it is not a competitive environment -- rather one that is collaborative in nature, where people care about one another. Camaraderie is a part of the culture.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Extraordinary client service focus. Shared goals with clients. Visionary. Practical. Thought leaders in their respective fields. Open to new ideas. Need a little more focus on work/life balance for its people.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Base compensation was equivalent to the rates McKinsey, Bain, BCG paid top tier MBAs. Bonuses were based on revenue brought to the firm, contribution to intellectual capital, mentorship of teams and newer folks, etc. Revenue "credit" was given to folks even if it was a team effort and if you helped another team with a proposal. I always had more revenue credit that I expected. Deferred comp in terms of profit sharing, etc. was also generous.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
The culture at Booz was collaborative and hard working. People cared about the work and the client. People also cared about one another, and if someone needed help either professionally or personally, folks were there for you. Work/life balance really depended on the project at hand. As a firm, Booz devoted energy and focus to this -- though there was more room for opportunity.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Booz and Co. is known for both it's strategic abilities as well as it's implementation skills and ability to empower the client. At times, due to it's combined firm with Booz, Allen & Hamilton (mostly gov't business), which has a different type of talent and different focus -- Booz & Co (or the prior commercial/non gov't arm) of Booz, Allen & Hamilton) -- it's brand has sometimes gotten confused.
Employee - Manager
Onsite child care, flexible work environment (home, choice of offices close to home), chance to work across teams.
Employee - Manager
The culture is great for ex-military.
Employee - Manager
Great reputation in DC, unknown in other markets.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
conservative, guided by the fact that the firm is now a publically traded company
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Too much staff augmentation work - less consulting, more contractor mind set
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Confusing with Booz & Co
