Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Booz Allen has undergone a lot of change in the past five years, including going public and a new CEO. That has created a lot of uncertainty in the organization that affects all levels of the company.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Novice and insular - while they have a great deal of experience at Booz Allen, most have never worked anywhere else and that limits their decision making.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Negotiate a strong base, raises are minimal.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Smart dedicated people who are committed to their clients' missions - leadership who are less committed to those smart people.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Smart but expensive
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Booz Allen was bought by the Carlyle Group in 2008. The Firm has experienced a significant change in its culture since this acquisition. The few people I know who remain at the Firm from before the purchase tell me that it is a horrible working environment and the quality of the client service has gone down substantially. This makes me incredibly sad having worked at the Firm for almost 11 years.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
I am rating this based on my experience at the time -- this does not reflect present-day. I would say the senior leadership was extraordinarily competent, innovative, and collaborative.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Women were consistently paid less than men. "Google" for more information about the lawsuits that have been filed by senior female partners. This is reflective of a systemic issue. I hope that it has been addressed and resolved.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Smart people who want to make an impact.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
I believe it has been hurt substantially by the acquisition of Carlye Group and going public. Now, Booz is just "another" big firm like Accenture. It is no longer leaner/meaner.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Lack of choice in project location/type; salary average; one of thousands and easy to get lost in the crowd
Employee - Associate/Consultant
lost in the clouds
Employee - Associate/Consultant
pay increase is tied to consultant level
Employee - Associate/Consultant
your experience is very much dependent on your direct manager; a networked/active manager will propel you and vice versa
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Eric Snowden episode didn't help the market reputation
Employee - Manager
The senior leadership over the recent years have lost focus on the traditions, values, and critical services and counsel of what the firm's founders strove to achieve and deliver to clients.
Employee - Manager
It is in a steady decline in the industry in which I worked. Consistent missteps in strategies and people goals.
Employee - Manager
Very politically devisive work culture.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
While it used to be a great place to work, in recent years and since going public, BAH has become far too focused on the bottom line and less focused on the employee experience. Employees are now just treated as a number and expendable.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
No bonuses below the Senior Associate level
