Client work uninteresting. Work not challenging. Too hierarchical structure. Staff not empowered to make decisions. Staff not truly able to control their careers; if opportunity came up that was more interesting/advanced staff persons career, the decision to be staffed on the project had to align with teams' relationships. If opportunity did not align, staff was guided away from interesting/better suited project and shuttled onto a project that satisfied partner relationships.

Positives = 1) wide breadth of clients/federal agencies and topics you can possibly work for/with; 2) pay is decent; 3) has cache within federal environment Negatives = 1) 15 minute time accounting; 2) can easily get stuck with no where to move up or over; 3) can end up "on the bench" with no client work and then be let go; 4) very DOD-focused, so if that is not your thing/your field, then can be overwhelmed by the military focus and leadership within the firm; 5) still a very "male" environment; 6) over past 10 years has gotten rid of many benefits that had made it an attractive firm -- benefits now similar to most other competitors in terms, and health plan not as good as it used to be...
