BCG is an amazing place to work. You learn so much, and everyone is really looking out for each other. We tackle once-in-a-lifetime problems for our clients and drive to tremendous impact.

Current Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

Great learning curve, exposure to executives, good compensation package.

Current Employee - Partner

Very good. I'd say we are considered one of two premium firms in the market. Generally speaking clients appreciate that we work with their organization (at all levels of the organization). Our main competitor tends to work only for the person who is paying for the project.

Current Employee - Partner

It's generally a group of very nice people. There is an emphasis on respect for the individual. Have seen situations where leaders where impacted when they did not treat others with respect (regardless of circumstances). Generally a fun group. Everyone smart and curious (yep, lots of nerds).

BCG's market reputation disguises its broken internal culture. While having BCG on my resume does help me gain the interest of recruiters, it was a miserable place to work where I learned very little and received no mentorship or coaching related to raising my game.

Employee - Manager

The culture is militaristic and command-and-control. Partners can do no wrong, provide meager direction to non-Partners and expect superlative results. Clients are not exposed to the internal fraternity-type tactics used by management to get their consultants to deliver. If they were, clients would likely consider working with other consulting firms.

Employee - Manager

The firm is dedicated to client delivery and will stop at nothing to flawlessly execute client engagements. Unfortunately, this same refrain does not carry over into the behavior of Partners and Senior Management internally. The majority of conference calls are combative and the tone of direction (when given) is command-and-control, the exact opposite of the collaborative image most consulting firms attempt to project. I would not recommend this firm to anyone who is seeking to start or resume their consulting career as it will serve only as a good place to learn lifelong bad habits in people management. All of the C-level exposure and world-class delivery does not excuse the callousness with which the Partners treat their subordinates (everyone who is not a Partner).

Unimpressive leadership

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

I worked in the Middle East office and itseemed to me that the culture was not supportive of Non European, non white people. Performance evaluation was a joke.. Everything was based on whether you were part of the in crowd or not. Good evaluations were discounted based on preconceived notions your advisor has of you

Very approachable leadership
