Capgemini is focused on delivery, good at project management, maybe too modest on the sales and marketing side.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Needs less politics. Need good work to stand out over office politics
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Capgemini has a very broad customer base in perhaps 100 countries worldwide, with employees in most industrialized countries. There are opportunites for assignments both within one's own country, frequently with international teams, as well as limited possibilites to transfer to other business units and other countries.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
I would say both strategic and pragmatic in action, with ability to articulate the relationship between long term and short term goals.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
I would say that compensation is only average, being less than at some leading consulting firms like Accenture. And bonuses and deferred compensation are relatively low.

As an employee in France, we have a works council which gives sundry benefits like reduced prices for gym membership, squash courts, tickets to shows, etc. Also, all employees in France have 5+ weeks of vacattion. Telecommuting is very strong and now rather flexible (for example, I can choose up to 9 days per month, non-predefined days of the week, depending on customer meetings or travel). Most employees are considered "exempt" employees, meaning that work time is not counted on an hourly basis and that people have freedom to organize their schedule, within some rules and constraints. All French employees have paid maternity leave for both mothers (4-6 months) and fathers (11 calendar days, 7-9 working days).
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Relatively diverse, especially for a French company. There are no "typcial" diplomas required or overly respected, so people are rated on performance.

I think Capgemini has a good reputuation. One point clouds that however: they have many companies in the group, some with Capgemini name, others with the Sogeti name. Our complex legal entity structures make our market reputation harder to understand.

Former Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Capgemini is a good firm, not a great firm. There are challenges with the leadership culture in that there is no intentional culture. Leaders are seldom developed and receive no systematic coaching.

Capgemini has a lower pay structure than firms it competes against, but makes up for the lack of up or out culture.
