The culture is to be constantly to be afraid to voice your opinion. Although there is a voice of employee, employees are afraid to express their voice for fear they might lose their job. Management runs the department by fear for your job at all times. It is atmosphere of fear and misery.
Employee - Senior Vice President
That company is huge to make progress on project work is extremely hard. It is not a trusting environment. As it relates to people, the skills to manage are extremely lacking. Upper Management is clueless, since they rely on the voice of employee survey which is skewed.
Employee - Vice President
Does not value the individual.
Employee - Vice President
Individual and personal circumstances are not valued.
Employee - Vice President
The culture needs to change. Things are just not the same. Individual is no longer valued.

I would change Everything
Employee - Senior Vice President
Jin the specific group I worked in the culture was not good. It was a time of a management change so it was an "every man for himself" environment.
Employee - Senior Vice President
It is a big company with muck to learn if you take the initiative. Take advantage of that and try to work in multiple departments to expand your skills, knowledge and network. It is up to you to network and find your next opportunity. Keep moving while you are there. If not, you will fall behind.
Employee - Senior Vice President
The firm needs to be more forward looking. Too many actions are taken to meet analysts' quarterly earnings expectations. As a result, programs designed to have longer term benefits are sometimes delayed indefinitely only to be implemented urgently (and often badly) in the future.

I would suggest better communications between the leadership and mid level managers

I would immediately rehire me for the position I was working. I was hired for a 2 yr contract but the contract ended prior to one month. I had vision to work for long term for this client and make a good career in Investment Banking. Due to factors beyond my control (health of daughter, wife whom I had to take to doctors frequently) my career got affected. Singapore was also a nice place to work with good infrastructure. Me having worked in USA for 10 yrs earlier, Singapore could have been an excellent choice.I had also traded in US markets extensively. Had done few courses in part-time MBA, had good grip on Finance, Investment Banking. Could have been a good choice for me.

Working in Singapore, working at Citi with well presented employees, well qualified employees some of whom had 2 double degrees was an honour to work with. However, when my 4+ yrs old daughter developed cough due to haze in Singapore, when my wife was not well, my sr. manager mentioned that family came first and allowed me to take them to hospital few times. However, the contract got ended. However the company could have provided some time for me to send my wife/daughter to India for treatment, recovery. If the company has given a break of a month or two instead of a permanent break like the one given, I would have still continued there and excelled in my work.

First it began with a good office, good reception, good cafeteria, free bus service from/to Tampines to Changi Business Park (place where Citi is located) during reasonable hours of the day such as 7:00 am - 10:00 am, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Then it had friendly colleagues with excellent dressing sense, manners. Citi also had lots of in-house events which made working in Citi that much more enjoyable. Also some of my senior colleagues were traders in the stock market and held brokerage account with citi, awesome experience.

Employee - Vice President
For work life balance I would recommend. For actually making money and being respected, I would not.
Employee - Vice President
Know that you are not going there for money. You are going there to have much more flexibility within your life.
Employee - Vice President
Culture was great with the flexibility to work remotely, but from getting paid industry standard, forget it. Also, when the time comes, they are very much in a "Save Yourself" mode.
