A consulting career is great for new graduates to learn presentation skills, structured thinking and consulting methodologies. However, the drop out rate is high for mid career transitions from corporate world to consulting. The culture and expectations are different and bar is set very high with little support from partners.

As an Advisory firm, its reputation is not great in the market place due to numerous quality issues with delivery as EY utilises a leverage model. Partners may not step in to vet deliverables prior to dissemination to clients
