They try to be collaborative and inclusive. I enjoyed the team environment as a junior person there. It was very social. I didn't know anyone in the area and soon developed lasting friendships with my coworkers. As I became more senior, the job became more cutthroat. I felt like I was competing against other partners to win work rather than collaborating with them.

EY does not have culture. They do not give people opportunities, unless that individual is already a favorite

It really comes down to who you work in the firm, but you notice trends that make you wonder how this firm can be considered diversity friendly I came across economical and financial crisis and in both situations I saw layoffs at all levels - the one things that sticks to my mind is that in all occasions the ones being laid off are non Canadian born/raised profeesionals - saw some great people leave and I was surprised to see some great minds and profeesionals leave the firm - Are they diverse? Probably as we see many different ethnic groups, there is respect for differences and they are praised as a value inside the firm - the problem. Is when there are tough decisions to be made like layoffs, qualified immigrants are gone first (unless if you are American) Same for leadership positions - you can review the org chart and most leaders are Canadian Born/Raised - almost to no immigrants who are highly qualified to lead the organization...so it's diverse but not so much

Consistently listed as one of the best companies to work for in a myriad of listing, along with being known as one of the "Big 4" firms, there are very few negatives in the market.
