If you don't know what etiquettes means, you will be a partner soon at EY.

Better than it should

Employee - Associate/Consultant

As a first job, I will not recommend EY to my friends, since the work culture at least in India is not good. Things tend to slow and very political. There is no work life balance and if one needs to start something new within their area of expertise, the bureaucracy makes it almost impossible to get anything done. However, on the same side there is a lot one can learn in a very short span of time. So if one if looking to do only work and nothing else, this is the place but if someone has a "life" I will suggest against this company.

EY market reputation was higher before 2000 divestiture of management consulting and other divisions. After 9/11 events, they seemed to flounder as business and gov't sectors re-aligned to 21st century. I see less of the organization, outside of counting votes for entertainment industry awards and a couple of sponsored entrepreneur recognition programs. Ironically, both were a small part of day-to-day business work.

Employee

As with all large organizations, a bit like high-school. "Preferred" partners or industry groups -- often with long personal/social/college relationships. -- I enjoyed the work and organization -- but being an experienced hire -- I was never part of the established "inner tract" (lifetime employees), so opportunity for partnership was low.

Employee

some information may be dated. The 401K program (Fidelity mgt.) was very good with EY option to match your contributions. The pension program of interest to those that desire a 5+ year career at company. --- Not aware of current salary structure -- BUT the numbers that I have seen (recruiters/posted by new hires) show salaries above market/industry scales since 2008/2009 downturn. ---

Employee

Competent. Charts and steers "the safe course" for expected revenue and growth targets. Risk avoided until very well understood.

Employee

EY is a good firm for the college graduate to acquire 2-3 years of solid business and consulting experience. For experienced professionals, I would not recommend as you are at a disadvantage -- an outsider to existing indystry groups and culture/social relationships, regardless of your industry qualifications or work experience "on the other side" of the relationship.

Employee

very good, but it depends in which region of the world.

Employee

It is very hard for me to describe, as I dealt with them as person who verified and validated their work. In these circumstances, they were very nice.

Employee

E&Y strictly respects subordination, is very efficient, effective and E&Y's partners are very cooperative.

best in class

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

Very bad high management, great medium and low management that makes great work days even thought you are working more than 10 hours a day that you CANT report and wont be paid for.

Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant

When you have to travel you get 65$ per day that you can manage as you want and it lets you save money.
