Employee - Director
They take their core values seriously: first and foremost, the customer is their compass, and then followed by relationships matter (teamwork) and individual excellence. They show that they believe in the values often with examples.
Employee - Analyst / Associate
They will make you believe they are interested in you.
Employee - Director
I think that they've made significant progress in flex time, working from home, but I think there's still a blurred line between professional and personal time.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
I only recommend working at GM because of Ms. Barra who came in and restored integrity and respect to the associates. She walked into a totally out of control company and is doing a fantastic job. She was put into that position to fail and instead she shines as an GMI engineer (we share that) and a very strong executive.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
In South America GM has held very high market share ratios, therefore is a very well known and respected Company. I learned a lot of things regarding the automotive industry there.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Strong culture, based on more than 100 years of experience; but much better nowdays that GM was reborn after the bankrupcy.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Bureaucracy should be pushed out.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Great career opportunities if you happen to be in the right place and the right time.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The culture you experience depends upon the business unit or division, especially if its manufacturing vs others. In general, it was positive and collaborative with employees who want to succeed.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Needs more diversity at all management levels.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Highly suggest that each person must work hard and smart to rise through the ranks. There's a lot of competition.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Culture was acceptable when I was there.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
You learn a lot from working at GM.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
A lot of changes are evolving for the better - since the bankruptcy. I hear that the working environment has improved and that's what I would have changed from when I was there.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Collaborative and supportive work culture.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The boundaries in the structure of the engineering organization to grow up vertically as the subsidiaries in U.S.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
This company has started the cultural change needed for years prompted by the home subsidiary in U.S.A. It has a strong reputation and the learning curve is endless. Still, some growth in the organization needs to be envisioned in the future to avoid aging the workforce in the same old process within the next few years.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Great workforce mixed with Gen X & Millennial personnel which keeps a strong delivery mentality. Great place to develop initiatives for process improvement. Sometimes, barriers are established on silos that need to be broken down.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
I would like to apply experience and knowledge to give more accountability and authority.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
It was a learning experience working at GM.
