Please note, my experience with HCA reflects on the initial outstanding founders and executives outstanding leaderships and culture, which they establish and carried out during my tenure. Basis of my recommendation surrounds the qualities of the; ownership, governance, executive and senior managements commitment to: 1) Integrity 2) Commitment to patient care, 1st and last 3) Sincere support of staff at all levels 4) Service to the communities wherein the company served 5) Support of continuing education for staff and patients 6) Honesty 7) Faire and reasonable recognition and rewards given to all staff 8) Honesty at all times 9) Belief in the good and value of all staff 10) Focusing on quality outcomes at all levels and at all times, above short term profit gains 11) Open and listening lines of communication 12) Acknowledgement that service to clients, patients, community and staff comes 1st and last 13) Acceptance of failure, as a learning process by which to improve ones performance 14) Established realistic and attainable objects at all level of the organization

Only if you are at the main office. The hospitals and the other support offices are like sweat shops.

The culture is dependent upon what physical building you were located within. The main building was a great place to work but the other support offices the management left a lot to be desired.

The benefits were great but the culture is a very old fashioned "good ole family network." If you knew someone then you got the easier jobs/manager but if you were not in the family then the time is usually short. Either you worked for 20 years or didn't last 2.

Corporate driven from Nashville office..not a lot of autonomy for the sites/hospitals

Employees are treated like children in grade school. Directors and Supervisors are not knowledgeable and inconsistent making decisions.

Hostile leadership, lacking ethics and common courtesies.

Highly stressed and hostile work environment. When senior leadership was scheduled everyone got upset because of the angry threatening outbursts and harassment that everyone knew came with the senior leaders.

Industry wide people know of the oppressive management style at HCA so I am now viewed with some prejudice as others fear I 'bought in" or agreed with the angry outbursts, profane language and frequent threats that were a part of the HCA senior leaders culture of leading by fear and intimidation
