ICF offers a flexible workplace environment. The projects are interesting and challenging and the company's employees are smart, competent snd dedicated.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
I did not find ICFI to be particularly knowledgeable of the subject matter area I worked in; it lacks reach back capability, communicates poorly with its employees and practices a strict chain of command approach to organizational management which, when combined with poor management personnel, creates a hostile work environment

Unknown expect in the Beltway
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Collaborative -- people are more than willing to collaborate on something interesting.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Government work has thin margins. Thus, compensation is low vis a vis major consulting firms. That does not seem to bother some people who are there to "change the world."
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Great guys. Smart. No vision.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
There are a lot of happy pro's at ICF. They tend to be Washington based and working in an area or issue in which they are passionate. ICF wants to expand its business outside of government. But they don't have a good vision or plan to do so. So I would not recommend joining outside of their government business.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Known as a firm providing a large portion of services to the commercial sector. The largest clients are federal entities.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Highly political work culture.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
It depends on the line of business, but in general it is a good group of people and I made many great friends there that I am still close with today.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
People are really smart and motivated to do a good job.

In the DC area and in the energy sector it has a very good reputation and I think the firm does work that is as high quality as large competitors such as Booz or Deloitte. However, not many people know ICF outside of DC which is a negative in terms of having it on my resume.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Pay is excellent, however, you're viewed as a commodity.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
ICF hires many young and hungry recent college grads. The upper upper management is firmly entrenched and is good at the superficial attempts at work-life balance. The pay is quite good.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Overall good reputation, but still needs to improve brand awareness.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Good for Government consulting work.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Very conservative risk averse, focus on government cost plus projects.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
Not well recognized in the corporate sector.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
fun energetic place to learn and grow with the company. So many internal and external activities that the company contribute time and effort to.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Great Team work, A++++ effort, modest, and open door relationship.
