Company says it supports meritocracy and open but in reality it is more closed and supporting sycophancy. Earlier it had good control on one sector and continued to thrive on it but when it lost its leading edge, it started fumbling which caused many errors. Never interested in diversifying and never allowed other talented people to strive.

Since the company was stagnating, there was a lot of politics resulting in frequent layoffs. Lack of culture ended up with good people leaving the company.

It's a big company, so there are the normal meetings constantly, but they generally stay on time. There is an emphasis on time managment practices. Everyone has been very nice in the Data Center Group. I am in software and I can't speak for the hardware side, but you are expected to pull your weight but there isn't any emphasis on overtime and the group is very respectful of each other.

When you get older, there is more likelihood to be fired. They will force you to retire if you reach retirement age.

The company discriminates, firing older people to hire college students. Also is disrespectful. Most junior employees do not respect senior employees. Lack of integrity - code of conduct issue Mean & selfish people - people are competing each other due to performance. Employee told to be the biggest assets, however Intel laid off employees like a criminal (who will shoot if they are to be laid off)

Please make sure you have an advanced degree like PhD. This company does not reward people with anything less than PhD. I only had a Masters and I was hired two grade levels below a PhD. The HR structure promotes a PhD candidate.

The culture is venal. The lack of humanity is about as low as it can get. The company "values" are no longer respected by upper management. "Looking out for #1" is the only way to survive.
